When asked about the reactions from business communities of China and the US toward the recent bilateral economic and trade talks held in Sweden, Wang Linjie, a spokesperson for the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), said that business communities from both countries are engaging active interaction and communication.
From Monday to Tuesday, China and the US conducted in-depth, candid and constructive discussions on issues of mutual interest in Stockholm, Sweden, tackling China-US economic and trade relations and macroeconomic policies. At the same time, at the invitation of the CCPIT, a delegation led by Rajesh Subramaniam, board chair of the US-China Business Council visited China from Monday to Wednesday, said Wang on Thursday at a press conference.
"The delegation included senior executives from several US multinational corporations, such as Apple, Goldman Sachs and Thermo Fisher Scientific. During their visit to Beijing, the delegation met with multiple Chinese ministries and commissions, expressing their commitment to continuing operations in China, deepening their presence and taking concrete actions to advance bilateral economic and trade relations," said the spokesperson.
On Wednesday, China's
Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with the delegation, stating that China has always maintained continuity and stability in its policy toward the US, regardless of how the situation evolves, according to a statement released by the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
China's
Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao also met the delegation on Wednesday, urging the US to work in the same direction with China to maintain the stable, healthy and sustainable development of China-US economic and trade relations.
Wang, the CCPIT spokesperson, emphasized on Thursday that the hope for China-US relations lies in the people, and its foundation rests in grassroots exchanges.
"Over the past years, business communities of both countries have formed a mutually beneficial and win-win community of shared interests, serving as steadfast supporters for the stable, healthy and sustainable development of bilateral relations," the spokesperson stressed.
According to a latest report from the USCBC, 82 percent of surveyed companies said that their operations in China were profitable in 2024, an improvement over the past two years. Nearly 100 percent of surveyed companies report that they cannot remain globally competitive without their China operations.
Wang Linjie also cited Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA, who said during the third China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) that "China is not one of many markets. China is a singular unique market."
Since the beginning of 2025, the CCPIT has invited and hosted 30 delegations of US institutions and corporate executives. Notably, at the third CISCE, the number of US exhibitors increased by 15 percent compared to the previous session, maintaining their position as the largest group of overseas exhibitors, said Wang Linjie.
"We will hold more related activities in industries such as intelligent mining and automobiles," said Wang Linjie.
