A footage from the China Coast Guard (CCG) was released on Friday, showing China’s law enforcement in waters of Ren'ai Jiao in the South China Sea, according to China Bugle, an official media account affiliated with the PLA News Media Center.
In the footage, one infringing vessel entered the waters of Ren'ai Jiao, and the personnel on board not only splashed unknown liquid at the CCG personnel but also threatened them with a gun. One Chinese officer shouted, "Come at me!" In just six minutes, the CCG successfully towed the infringing vessel away from the scene.
The video footage was disclosed for the first time, according to China Bugle.
At 3:45 am on one day, an alarm sounded in a certain area of the South China Sea. The CCG vessel 21551, which was on a mission, received orders to resolutely block any intruding vessel from entering the waters near Ren'ai Jiao, according to the military channel of China Central Television (CCTV).
"Comrades, in a narrow encounter, the brave will prevail! Do we have confidence?"
"Yes!" The advance team prepared to deploy cables to tow the intruding vessel away from the scene.
According to the footage, "They're throwing something!" "They've pulled out a gun! They have a gun!" the CCG officers said. The intruders held a gun, splashed an unknown liquid at the CCG personnel, and attempted to cut the cables.
One CCG officer shouted, "Don't let them cut the ropes! Don't let them cut!"
Facing the threat, the CCG officers showed no fear: "Come at me!"
In the end, in just 6 minutes, the CCG officers successfully towed the intruding vessel away from the scene.
In the video shown on CCTV, Wang Qian from the CCG said, “They come over to occupy our territorial waters. You are that line. At this moment, the interests of the motherland and the nation are behind you, and they are very specific."
“With two shoulders and one head, whoever is afraid of death loses,” said Zhang Tianlong from the CCG, according to the video.
"After completing the mission and returning, we leaned against the railing by the dock, and a few of my comrade-in-arms said, 'It's really beautiful; the water is so blue.'" said Xie Xiaokui from the CCG.
Niu Yunlong from the CCG said, “We also sang, and the song was 'When That Day Comes,’” the video shows.
“Fishermen or passing merchant ships would send simple greetings to the CCG, saying ‘You have worked hard.’ We are very touched by this,” Xu Mou from the CCG said, according to the video.
Cui Zhaohai from CCG said that "I can say that I have witnessed our CCG grow from small to strong, and I am very happy."
The CCG vessel 21551, which carries out maritime missions, has showcased its strength in law enforcement operations in the South China Sea multiple times.
Wang Qian from the CCG said in the video released by CCTV, “History tells us that peace must be fought for and safeguarded. For us, we must defend this sea. Gazing upon the magnificent landscapes of our motherland, all grievances fade away – everyone has done a good job. Coming to fight in Nansha has been a complete success!"
